Before you shop , decide on a viable Holiday budget. This is money set apart from living expenses. It is imperative that you only spend cash. It is good to share your budget with family as a boundary to not overspend.
Be proactive in deciding what you are looking to purchase. Make a list of gifts and items you want ahead of time. Shop for the best deal. You may be less impulsive if you shop locally and you are likely to find a great deal. It is beneficial to help out a local business but this does not mean you need to spend more than you planned. If an item costs more than what you planned to spend, look elsewhere. On line shopping as well as local Facebook Marketplace are options for Holiday shopping. Keep in mind, you will be paying shipping or processing fees for online purchases. If you are not familiar with the business that has a desired product, always do research on it before moving forward. You should be able to ask questions about the product and be satisfied with it prior to purchasing. If anything is questionable about the business , do not purchase anything from them. If any vendor appears desperate or pressuring, this is a sign to walk away and not look back. Assess your gift list. Dave Ramsey, Financial Business Coach, says that we often spend excessive money on people that really do not care about us. If you feel compelled to buy a gift for someone to win their favor, they need to be off the gift list. If you feel certain individuals have not appreciated or made use of your gifts, do not bother buying them another one.
