Let’s explore the relationship between financial wellness and mental health.
You need to be financially healthy and be mentally sound in order to have a full life. You will be able to do more if you have financial wellness and strong emotional health. How you manage money is very closely related to your emotions and emotional wellbeing.
Money management starts with you. You are in control of your money. You decide if you are going to make a budget and stick to it. You can change your income and spending at any time. There is really no special
tool ,other than a budget, that can make you do this. You can pay off debt and save money at any time. You can say no to unnecessary purchases.
The health and mental health fields have learned that mental health is closely related to finances. Intake questionnaires ask about food , living conditions and financial security. It is a known fact that lack of sufficient finances leads to anxiety, depression and hopelessness. It is clear that the existence of mental health problems leads to health issues. Health and mental health problems are costly.
I mentioned earlier that you are in control of your finances whether you have a little or a lot. Anxiety is often a warning sign that your spending is out of control. Listen to your anxiety and stick to a budget. As you make progress in managing your finances you will find that you feel better emotionally. You gain trust in yourself when you follow your budget and your anxiety will decrease.
Effective money management leads to healthy emotions. You have a stable peace of mind when you know you have enough money for today, tomorrow and your future. If you need support in managing money, reach out to me at www.peacefullifefinancial.com. Karen Skelton Money Coach
