Have you hit a slump? Do you feel overwhelmed and unsure of what works? Read on for ideas of pressing on.

I am presently in a bit of a slump.I call it a funk as my mind and body are tired and overwhelmed. It has been a combination of events ,to include skin surgery and ill mother in law , that robbed me of my passion and focus on work.

I have evident symptoms of a mind funk and slump. I am so tired I feel like I have been dragged by a heavy chain across concrete. I feel like my mind is slow in processing what I am taking in . I am losing hope about my work, worried about if I am doing enough or producing. Work tasks are daunting.

So now that I am aware of my slump, I am making efforts to overcome it. I am allowing myself time to rest and heal. I am not pushing myself to go at a full throttle pace. I am setting boundaries in not taking on unnecessary tasks.

I am making a priority to take time to care for my mind and body. I have a daily morning time of quiet meditation. I have daily moderate work outs. I focus on eating healthy meals and getting adequate sleep.

I have not removed myself from work responsibilities. I am still networking, prospecting and making efforts to build relationships. My Supervisor called to check up on me ; I was open open in sharing with him and even shared about my slump. However, I asked for no excuses to not work. As I processed my daily life, I realized I was still working in spite of obstacles.

I give myself credit for still showing up for meetings and work events. I am still building business relationships. I actually felt more energized when I recognized my efforts.

A positive mindset is essential. I take responsibility for wasting physical and emotional energy in negative thinking which just keeps me in my funk. I confront feelings of worry , fear and anger which only keep me stuck. I make efforts to avoid negative thinking and resolve issues that cause them. I feel empowered when I consider my locus of control .

Today as I ease into my normal work routine , I feel more hopeful and energized. I am getting out of my funk by caring for myself first without guilt. I am able to do more work and am more productive when I am rested.
