Here are some ways to enjoy Christmas even more without the stress by sticking to a Holiday Budget.

It is tempting to overspend at Christmas. You may enjoy giving and seeing your loved ones happy. You may feel pressured by family members or friends to give excessively. You may be motivated by guilt or a really tough year.

There is nothing wrong with giving. Generosity actually increases our own happiness. However, it is not wise to give beyond our means. It is vital to stick to a Holiday budget. This is money set aside for Holiday gifts after all the basic living expenses are covered. Make a Holiday budget that allows you to pay cash for all gifts. Your stress will lift when you get through a Holiday without unpaid bills or adding other debts.

Giving a gift to some one does not always give a desired result. You can still feel guilty, pressured or stressed after giving a gift .The receiver may not appreciate the gift. We often ignore the time with family, friends as well as meaningful rituals and traditions that make Christmas uniquely special. Christmas can be a time to make warm memories without the focus on gifts.

If you are short on money, you can save money by making your own gifts. You can use any special artistic, creative or culinary skills. My husband is a wood worker and has made many beautiful gifts. I am creative on Canva and have used my skills to create unique gifts for friends and family. I have found that people are really touched by the thoughts that go into the gifts.

Do not feel guilty about declining invitations to expensive outings when they are not in your budget. You can offer many choices of activities that cost little or no money. If you are feeling overwhelmed, it may be a sign to step back and breathe. You can make this Christmas the most peaceful one ever!
